Hey!
This week, I’m sharing something a little different. A new pickleball docuseries called PARTNERS gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the personalities, pressure, relationships, and business side of professional pickleball in a way we really haven’t seen before. If you follow the pro game — or just want to understand where the sport is headed — it’s worth watching.
Now let’s get to today’s issue!

The Boomer League—Boomer league finished its 5th season with the highest total of players ever and the most teams, and now 51 communities are involved —and growing. For fall, we hope to add 6 communities and as many as 14 more teams. We stand for parity in divisions to create a fun, social Thursday experience. We will be the feature of two local television segments. Thanks to all our players. And hats off to all the leagues. We all serve a purpose for this “on-fire” recreational sport. Be safe. Enjoy summer. We start again on October 1. League entry will start on August 1. And HYDRATION is imperative now!
Premier League—Join our co-ed (gender neutral) Pickleball league for players age 55 and over in Palm Beach County, including the Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach area. We have multiple divisions to accommodate all skill levels. Free agents and hybrid teams are welcome, as well as community-based teams. Our league plays WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS in the fall and winter seasons and SATURDAYS in our spring season (March - May)
Palm Beach County Pickleball League—The Palm Beach County Pickleball League has just completed its 10th anniversary after completing its Winter 2026 season. We are now organizing the Fall 2026 season. It remains the largest and longest-standing Pickleball League in Florida, with over 1,800 active players. We will have 12 to 13 divisions in the fall. Letters of “Intent to Play” will go out on August 1, with a deadline of September 7, to all interested communities. The first date of play will be September 10, and the season will continue for seven weeks, culminating in the finals on December 12. Registration is now open on the website.
Strategy vs Opponent in Mid-Court
If your opponent is in mid-court, maybe a touch closer to the kitchen than baseline. Do you keep the ball in front of you or go cross? Do you hit them a ball they can volley or roll to their feet?

Most players think the mid-court is about hitting the right shot.
It’s not.
It’s about making the right decision in a split second—based on what you see, not what you planned.
That’s why you can hit a good ball… and still lose the point.
In today’s breakdown, I’ll show you exactly how to read the situation and choose the right option—so you stop guessing and start winning more of these points.
👇 Keep reading and use the mid-court decision tree in your next game.
When to Pressure the Fourth Shot—and When Not To
Richard Pickleball just dropped a great clip called “Pressure Those Fourth Shots!”—and he’s absolutely right about one thing:
Most players leave a lot of offense on the table here.
The ability to generate real power on the fourth shot can change a point fast… when it’s used at the right time.
But that’s where most 3.0–3.5 players get stuck.
They focus on hitting harder—without first reading the situation.
In today’s breakdown, I’ll show you how to think about the fourth shot differently—so you’re not just adding power, you’re making the right decision before you swing.

7 Kitchen Strategies to Avoid Getting Crushed in Pickleball
A Clear‑Eyed Look at the “Seven Strategies” Kitchen‑Line Video
There’s nothing wrong with the seven strategies in Kyle Koszuta’s video — most of them are solid fundamentals every player should know. But that’s also the point: they’re fundamentals. Useful, yes. Game‑changing, not exactly. Read my review.
