Upcoming Closure of the Delray Beach Pickleball Club in 2025
Club members received a letter starting out with the following:
Dear Members,
- The Delray Beach Pickleball Club will begin closing down in 2025. The club’s original mandate of promoting pickleball is obviously no longer relevant.
- Since the club’s inception, the club has provided pickleball clinics, held an annual tournament, hosted charitable events and held social events.
- Proudly, we have made many donations to charitable organizations.
- Two years ago we had over 1000 participants in our tournament. In 2023 we had over 700. This year we had only 125 registered with only 6 weeks before the start.
- It was just not feasible to hold the tournament and provide a meaningful event. We were able to cancel with only a modest out of pocket expense.
- A big thank you to the members who volunteered to help run the event…

Position Advantage in Pickleball: One Up, One Back vs. Two Back

Optimal positioning in pickleball is crucial for controlling the game and reducing weaknesses that opponents can exploit. The best positioning strategy depends on your current situation and your opponents’ positioning. Let's break it down.
Watching the ball vs. watching where you want to hit it?

Question: I can't recall precisely what it was, but I saw something lately where someone was talking about watching the ball right up to the point that your paddle makes contact with it. I've never done that. In fact, I feel like I stop looking directly at the ball very early on, and I just have it in my peripheral. I'm never looking in the direction of my paddle. Instead, I'm always looking where I want to hit the ball. Is this wrong? Read how experienced players answer this question here.
